Pente

A join 5 board recreation. The gamers alternate in putting stones of their colour. The gamers goal to align 5 stones of the identical colour (vertical, horizontal or diagonal). Captures are obtained by flanking pairs of an opponent's stones in any similar path (captures should include pairs; flanking a single stone doesn't end in a seize). A participant wins by scoring 5 stones in a row, or capturing 5 pairs of opponent stones.
